On the breadboard
Circuit exploration, Formulas, initial measurements, and working questions.
Where specimens, circuit questions, and musical purpose become documented instruments.
Four collections give instruments a home. The Laboratory preserves the development that brings each OCI there. A collection describes the purpose of a build; a progress label records where that particular OCI stands.
Where every story begins.
Learning, first implementations, and prototypes whose questions become the foundation of later instruments.
Finalized OCI records will appear here as individual links, carrying their development history, linked specimens, photographs, and service record.
Modern craftsmanship. Timeless circuits.
Modern production components selected for reliability and musicality, honoring historical circuits through deliberate craftsmanship.

Experimentation and discovery.
Unusual circuits, component comparisons, hybrids, and instruments whose purpose includes continued investigation.

Forged from reclaimed electronic history.
Instruments built around documented vintage specimens, individual characterization, provenance, and intentional placement.

The record begins while the questions are still open.
Each OCI keeps one continuing history as it moves through development. These progress labels describe the instrument’s current stage; dated observations and earlier revisions remain preserved.
Circuit exploration, Formulas, initial measurements, and working questions.
Bench evaluation, bias, stability, noise, output, and documented musical comparisons.
The chosen revision becomes a physical instrument, with construction decisions and linked specimens recorded.
The completed instrument’s record gains an individual link within its assigned collection. Development history remains available.
Each entry will carry its OCI identity, Family, Formulas, collection, current label, dated revisions, schematic references, linked OCS specimens, testing, listening context, and photographs. Service and replacement history continue after finalization.
The Laboratory workspace tracks development across all four collections. The Laboratory Collection is the home for instruments whose collection purpose is experimentation.
A Formula is a developed stage or recipe. A Family is a design lineage. An OCI is an individual instrument with its own evidence and history. Two instruments in one Family may have distinct voices; each deserves an individual record.
